I Send You Love.

clouds

Hello dear readers.  It has been a very long time since I’ve posted and it is going to be a very long time until I post once again.  I just haven’t had the spark.  But, I wanted you to know that I think of you all often and hope you are living sweet and joyful lives.

I’m sure I have shouted out my love for YA author A.S. King loud enough for you to hear.

I was thinking of my blog and wondering if there are folks out there thinking of me as I think of you.

In Ask the Passengers, King opens her novel with a prologue.  It’s short and beautiful.  In it, the narrator, Astrid Jones, is sending love to the passengers on an airplane as it flies overhead and she’s telling you how she does it and why she does it.  It is such a moving entry into a novel that you can’t help but turn the page to meet Astrid.

I have snapped a photo of this first page and it sits on my phone and I sometimes pull it out on the subway or when i’m waiting on line and I reread it and I send love.  I send love to the folks on the train. I send love to the folks on line with me.

This isn’t reciprocal.

It’s an outpouring.

Because if I give it all away, then no one can control it.

Because if I give it all away, I’ll be free.

Dear readers, go read A.S. King.  I suggest you start with Everybody Sees the Ants or Ask the Passengers.  Know that even though I don’t write much anymore, I’m still sending you love.  In all the little moments of life, I’m sending you love.
